Dr. Hooper is truly an anointed woman of God! Blessed with many spiritual gifts, she is among many a Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Mentor, Visionary, Ministry Coach, Intercessor, Author and the list goes on. Even with her being a former model and one of the first female rappers (M.C. Debbie D) who appeared in the rap movie Beat Street, Dr. Hooper is one who is known among her peers to be ministry minded. With a single eye and a strong pursuit toward ministry, she holds five theological degrees (all summa cum laude) including a Doctorate of Ministry and has served as a Professor of Biblical Studies, specializing in Greek New Testament. In addition, she has served as the National Evangelist for Pilgrim Assemblies International (Archbishop Roy E. Brown, Chief Prelate) and has labored in the field possessing over 20 years of experience as an ordained, itinerant evangelist.
In 2007, she utilized her ministry experience to become the first African American, and woman, to write a complete ministry handbook to guide and empower new and aspiring pastors, ministers, and evangelists in the area of clergy development. Dr. Hooper strongly believes that those who suffer in ministry do so because of a "lack of knowledge" and therefore, "can't do what they don't know". Thus, in her book, Hooper's Evangelist & Minister's Handbook, she shares an abundance of wisdom that can only be gleaned from years of past ministry experiences. This wisdom will enlighten every reader with practical ministry information that will smoothly transition them into their ministry calling, with a spirit of excellence! Lastly, with a strong anointing and passion to help others succeed in ministry, Dr. Hooper has been a ministry etiquette columnist for www.Preachingwoman.com and the NJ Christian Observer, along with hosting her own Ministry Mentoring Workshops.
While still continuing her evangelistic ministry under the umbrella of Debora Hooper Ministries, Dr. Hooper is presently the Founder & Pastor of the Greater Works Worship Center located in the Morrisinia Section of the (South) Bronx, New York. On a weekly basis, she can be heard by many, profoundly preaching and teaching the Word of God to develop strong Christians. In addition, Dr. Hooper is also a former member of the 81st Precinct Police & Clergy Council of the NYPD.
Dr. Hooper has received many awards and achievements for her ministry efforts and has also been been featured in The New York Times, Amsterdam News and on The Word Network.
